Energiekonzepte Deutschland
An energy manager that reacts to the price of power.
AMPERE.IQ connects PV, storage, heat pump and wallbox into one system — and automatically shifts consumption into the cheapest quarter-hours of the day. Lipsia Digital designed and built the IoT cloud backend and the native customer app.

01About the project
From selling assets to a digital product.
Energiekonzepte Deutschland sells and installs energy assets for private households: photovoltaics, storage, heat pumps, wallboxes. Without an own digital product the customer relationship ends with installation — and the components work side by side instead of together.
AMPERE.IQ is the answer: an energy manager that connects every component, knows its state and controls consumption ahead of time. Lipsia Digital built the platform behind it — from device connectivity through rules and optimisation to the app customers use.
02The task
Five device classes, one system behaviour.
Every device class brings its own protocol, its own data quality and its own failures. The task was not to build five connections, but a system in which a new manufacturer generation does not trigger a new project.
- Reliably connect components from different manufacturers
- Keep states and readings robust at quarter-hour resolution
- Control consumption ahead of time and explainably
- Make market prices available as a control variable
- Give customers a product they can operate without training
03System landscape
Asset, gateway, platform, app, market.
The platform sits between the assets in the house and the power market. Downwards it speaks device protocols, upwards it delivers states and decisions to the app. A simplified, publishable view.

04Price signal
Price becomes a control variable.
The "EPEX SPOT Day Ahead" price curve is published daily by the European power exchange and shows the expected price for every quarter-hour of the coming day. With high generation and low demand the price can fall sharply — to zero or below. AMPERE.IQ uses this curve to charge the storage precisely in the cheapest windows.

EPEX SPOT Day Ahead
Response
0 ct
With high generation and low demand the exchange price can fall to zero or below.
Schematic price curve · no market data, no customer values
A price curve for 24 hours
The app shows the expected grid price for the next 24 hours. Cheap windows are marked so the automatic decision stays explainable.
Cheapest window
2.4
ct/kWh between 03:00 and 06:00 — storage charges automatically in that period.
Resolution
15 min
The curve arrives at quarter-hour resolution. Control decisions follow the same beat.
Compatible with dynamic tariffs
Since 2025 utilities are obliged to offer dynamic tariffs. AMPERE.IQ works with any tariff based on the exchange price — a smart meter is the prerequisite.
Prerequisite
Smart meter
No smart metering point means no dynamic tariff — and no price-based control.
05Devices
Devices that talk. A system that listens.
Solar modules, storage, heat pump and wallbox speak different protocols — SunSpec, Modbus TCP, OCPP, EEBUS. The platform normalises them into one state model: only then can the energy system be controlled as a whole rather than device by device.

Every device state in real time
Each connected device has a state, a reading and a connection quality. Connection loss, backfill and timestamps are part of the domain, not an edge case.
State model
5
Device classes in one model: PV, storage, wallbox, heat pump, metering point.
Data path
Backfill
If the connection drops, readings are delivered later and placed retroactively.
Three operating modes per device
Not optimised, price-based or solar-based: users decide per device which logic it follows. The platform delivers that without re-explaining the rules each time.
Mode
Price-based
The device follows the price curve and charges in the cheapest quarter-hours.
06Application
Energy with one swipe.
The app is where the system becomes explainable. It shows generation, consumption and state of charge, the price curve, the weather forecast and the decisions the energy manager has made — including the reason.
Live report
Generation, self-consumption, grid draw and savings in one view, updated every quarter-hour. Transparency here is not a by-product but the product's selling argument.
Update
15 min
Reporting and control run at the same beat as the market.
Notifications that lead somewhere
Push notifications report cheap charging windows, unused surplus or a fault on an asset. Every message names the reason and the consequence — no message without an action behind it.
AMPERE.IQ
Low-price charging window
From 03:00 the exchange price drops to 2.4 ct/kWh. Storage charges automatically.

08Outcome
A product in the market that keeps growing.
AMPERE.IQ is in the market; dynamic tariffs and price-based control are delivered. From 2026 direct marketing of self-generated power becomes a perspective — the next stage concerns flexibility marketing and data-based optimisation, which we label openly as a development field.
